Natalie Roper, MA BCBA
Natalie has been in the field of of ABA since 2015, graduate from Ball State University with an MA in Applied Behavior Analysis with an emphasis in Autism in 2020, and received BACB board certification to practice as a BCBA in 2022. Before her time in ABA Natalie had a career in orthopedics, specifically quality control and logistics integration.
While pursuing her Master’s in ABA in Indianapolis, Natalie held many supervision/fellowship positions. She desired critical feedback, skill enhancement, precise task list training, and timely observations with clients. Natalie went through many positions, searching for these elements in supervision. This delayed her licensure. A pursuit of clinical excellence took Natalie to Arizona where she received well-rounded supervision at a research based non-profit ABA provider. Prolonging supervision was difficult, but in turn sharpened her clinical skills & client service delivery. This allowed Natalie to readily act as a BCBA when she passed her licensing board exam.
Because of her elongated supervision experience, Natalie desired to improve the field of ABA for future generations of BCBAs. Natalie’s passion is to treat supervisees with respect, appropriate responsibility, & excellent training so they can seamlessly receive supervision and serve clients in their future careers.
Natalie has worked in clinic, home, school and community settings. High magnitude behaviors, non-vocal communication, and social-emotional repertoires are just a few of the skill domains Natalie has experience in. Moreover, Natalie acquired supervision in Acceptance and Commitment Training through relational frame theory during her own supervision, and uses it with applicable clients & supervisees.
While clinical skills are paramount, Natalie focuses on person-centered management and a team first mentality. Meeting the needs of direct care staff, RBTs, clients, and fellow BCBAs has proven essential to Natalie’s clinical skills. In order to use clinical skills effectively, supervisees need the ability to navigate conflict, provide constructive feedback, and coach staff. Natalie focuses on professional development throughout supervision to ensure supervisees are prepared for the professional world.
In her personal life, Natalie loves riding her bike all over Indianapolis. While she is allergic to cats, there is not one stray cat she won’t stop for. She loves hanging out with her teenage nieces and sisters, traveling, and cheese curds.
